Why is the translation line of my interlinear gloss so far down?

Why is the translation line of my interlinear gloss so far down?

For some reason, the translation line is sometimes further below from the rest of the linguistic material. Any idea why this would be? I've played around with all the {} and other brackets, but cannot get it looking right...
