Philips Semiconductors SAA7231 TV Tuner
We're trying to get a TV Tuner of Evermedia working under Ubuntu, but can't get through even getting it recognized. We've already installed firmware-linux-nonfree but that didn't really help.
Output from lspci:
03:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7231 (rev ca)
After installing tvtime and trying to scan we get this message:
root@tvs01:~# tvtime-scanner
Reading configuration from /etc/tvtime/tvtime.xml
Reading configuration from /root/.tvtime/tvtime.xml
Scanning using TV standard PAL.
videoinput: Cannot open capture device /dev/video0: No such file or directory
Has anyone gotten this thing onto its knees? Please let us know how :-)
